Sadly, this income map of Detroit is also a plotting of my educational life in Southeastern Michigan. From my childhood spent at Giving Tree Montessori on the border of Grosse Point, to middle school at Friends School, ensconced in the Modernist elephant’s graveyard that used to be Black Bottom, and finally, to my time at Roeper, which Daniel correctly localized thus, I’m afraid I’ve followed the money.
